hi,   i'd print 5x7 sized photo/file on letter-sized (8.5x11) photo paper use half of sheet.  i used time in old pse2 program (i've updated 2 pse9).  older print dialog box, in little preview pane able move photo up/down/side-to-side (wherever wished) , in final print-out prescisely placed , saving space on paper second print.  apparently no longer possible in newer versions...?  in pse9 print keeps coming out half printed, no matter ticked (landscape/port) or how placed it.   question: no longer possible in newer versions?     i tried working around creating new file in pse9 editor , moving orig 5x7 file one--via select-all>edit>copy , pasting 5x7 newly created 8.5x11 file...however 5x7 did not retain dimensions when placed 8.5x11 space.  maybe "resize" layer? i have 64bit ubuntu 11.10 server working fine. yesterday, switched dhcp static address mode. since ssh server seems acting up. if ssh server, able login (passwordless login) , prompt. after keyboard stops working , after time (don't know duration) broken pipe error. both on client log , server logs, there seems nothing abnormal. tried ssh -v, stopped logging after got shell prompt. server otherwise seems ok , web apps supposed serve working usual. thoughts, ideas appriciated. i'm hoping able create 3d pdf share clients. want able have them see 2d renderings , 3d model @ same time different views. possible? cadiva if want show more 1 view at same time , it's impossible. there's no "split window" feature.   if want define series of different views , switch between them else happens (clicking button, etc.) that's simple, set scene , hit manage views option on 3d toolbar. i had folder of images in catalog containing .cr2 , .xmp retouched in lr4, converted these images .dng, throwing away original files. when go folder in lr5 (upgraded lr4), of ratings , previous retouches gone, have original raw images in .dng format. i'm guessing tihs because didn't or lr5 didn't save modifications sidecar files, before conversation. fortunately, have backups of original .cr2 & .xmp files , (or lr4 catalog) contain retouches. in mind, what's best way reimport .cr2 & .xmp files, , reconnect them same folder in catalog?   should remove .dng files, restore backup folder , expect lr4 see everything? or need import images catalog? did converting lr5 update catalog, , need restore previous lr catalog too?   thanks insight , assistance!   jeff did use lr5 upgrade lr4 catalog, or re-import of files lr5? i having problem accessing server remotely , editing system files apache2 virtual host file. able log in root using ssh terminal of server. can transfer general files using winscp. attempting create new virtual host file cannot remotely. when attempt open default file edit use following command. sudo gedit default error. what benefit of grub using uuids find boot/swap etc disks. these disks can found equally using device name. causes problems when uuid of disk changes, e.g. did install , restored tarball install, hoping create duplicate server (different disk sizes , clonezilla failed). overwrote /etc/fstab , /boot/grub/grub.cfg version first installation , caused boot process fail disk not found. corrected problem removing uuids fstab , grub.cfg , works fine. me seems these uuids disks cause more problems solve. the device names more subject change uuids. if have usb mass storage device plugged in, instance, depending on how bios assigns device addresses /dev/sdb may no longer same device without usb drive connected. in contrast, uuids unique each partition. /dev/sda pretty static, other assignments pretty mutable. i installed camera raw 8.1 photoshop cs 6. found lightroom may resize photo through workflow options. when select image dimesion less 1000 px, example 990x660px found result image in ps noisly!!! 1080px small image dimension works good! found in lightroom 4.4 there no problem - image 990x660px gives result! problem? help?! there problem in lr export lr doesn’t apply nr settings if output size less 1/3 original size, maybe issue involves more lr.  unresized-size of dimension you’re resizing down 990?   do have example image others test can upload www.dropbox.com or skydrive or googledrive or similar, , post public download link, here?
