okay, i'm new ubuntu; installed yesterday , since installed , applied 173 driver+updates (so use ubuntu non-2d) laptop hasn't been detecting external monitor, use because laptop's screen pretty screwed (dis-coloured pixels on place). i've been scouring google since i'm new @ of instructions on how fix issue don't make sense me. did try going nvidia settings (i running geforce fx go5200, btw) , accessing x server display configuration, when open says: "unable load x server display configuration page: failed query noscanout screen 0. hi folks, trying have both ubuntu , windows vista on laptop. loaded ubuntu 10.10 didn't install put 11.10 on via wubi. discovered 'correct broken packages' option , able install 10.10 prefer, don't 11.10 @ all. installed easybcd on vista tidy start mode , deleted ubuntu in options thinking 11.10. tried uninstall 11.10 via wubi error message saying 'files not found' kept on coming up. when turn on each time can go vista. if possible want run 10.10 , delete 11.10 (i know both installed can't access them). appreciated.
