Thread: Cannot turn on WiFi

greetings everyone! so, i'm in bit of pickle may or may not see thread title. can't turn on wifi. if push f11 key, bluetooth turns off/on, supposed me wifi. i've lulz tried f11 key while holding down fn, same thing. nothing happens. now, being stated...here's i've pushed in terminal...maybe here can make heads or tails of , come solution.
code:
chris@chris-presario-cq57-notebook-pc:~$ ifconfig eth0      link encap:ethernet  hwaddr e4:11:5b:fe:32:75             inet addr:192.168.2.2  bcast:192.168.2.255  mask:255.255.255.0           inet6 addr: fe80::e611:5bff:fefe:3275/64 scope:link           broadcast running multicast  mtu:1500  metric:1           rx packets:1220 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0           tx packets:1169 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0           collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000            rx bytes:1203900 (1.2 mb)  tx bytes:192359 (192.3 kb)           interrupt:43 base address:0xc000   lo        link encap:local loopback             inet addr:127.0.0.1  mask:255.0.0.0           inet6 addr: ::1/128 scope:host           loopback running  mtu:16436  metric:1           rx packets:48 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0           tx packets:48 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0           collisions:0 txqueuelen:0            rx bytes:3840 (3.8 kb)  tx bytes:3840 (3.8 kb)
as see here, ifconfig states wifi not on. hmm.

code:
chris@chris-presario-cq57-notebook-pc:~$ rfkill list 0: hp-wifi: wireless lan soft blocked: no hard blocked: no 1: hp-bluetooth: bluetooth soft blocked: no hard blocked: no 2: hci0: bluetooth soft blocked: no hard blocked: no
nothing blocked via rfkill...

code:

whats alarming me bcm4313 not have logical name wlan0...

code:
chris@chris-presario-cq57-notebook-pc:~$ iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions.
no wireless device shows up. sad face. if can think of do, let me know. i've gone blocklist, , added acer, commented out bcm43xx, restarted device. right now, i'm going reinstall broadcom drivers, , see if works. other tips appreciated!

have scoured forums no avail; i've tried listed, , nothing worked. stick on main page.

side note: i'm not using lucid lynx. won't let me change distro in user cp; i'm using 11.10

here pretty thread give needed information on bcm4313. also, might check bios , see if wireless can enabled/disabled there.
