How do I isolate vocals and guitar to their specific microphones?
hi, not title try exlplain further here.
i using audition cs6 multiple mic inputs, 2 mics precise, 1 pick acoustic guitar , 1 pick vocals. using multi-track mode , assiging each mic own track. reason being because want use post editing on both guitar track , vocal track individually.
the problem using 2 condenser mics both mics pretty picking same makes post editing tracks individually impossible.
i understand both mics going pick abit of don't want to, eg, mic guitar going pick vocals aswell, there has way can minimise this. after don't want record guitar , vocals seperately.
any appreciated.
thanks
it depends large extent on microphones.
most condensers these days cardioid pick pattern means there's strong pick from front , reduced 1 rear. being case, make use of pattern when positioning mics--have guitar mic higher normal , pointing down @ guitar area less pickup pointing @ mouth.
do reverse vocal mic null side of mic pointing @ guitar.
obviously applies cardioid mics--if have omnis, not can do.
second, make use of fact sound follows inverse square law--get vocal mic near mouth possible , other 1 near guitar.
finally, don't mention you're using interface make sure things routed each mic isolated 1 track only.
having said that, clean recordings, i'll guide track both voice , guitar, go , record 2 elements again separately.
