Thread: Wireless Conection Issue

i have older computer i've decided install ubuntu on. downloaded ubuntu file , burned onto installation disk.

computer did not have internet connection, didn't additional stuff. fine, i'll later. brings point has utterly confused me:

how supposed connect online before ubuntu installed? there no other os on computer. , how supposed find correct driver make wireless card work if can't online download it?

know kind of wireless card have (broadcom bcm4318 ), , supported, have no idea how turn on, or if os knows there.

can here point me in right direction?

hi

when boot live disk can install or "try". if "try" should run ubuntu without installing , allow check works, including wifi. idea this.

searching in these forums, bcm4318 needs have package firmware-b43-installer installed. believe possible install ubuntu disk if can't online. pc have ethernet wired port? if not, once ubuntu installed, in software center, can edit software sources include ubuntu cd installed from. package included (at least in 11.10)
