Thread: Advanced install question

i'm going doing ubuntu install shortly. i've decided use "advanced" custom option install. want make sure i'm not missing key items here.

need make swap partition, , since have 8gb ram, i'll need make 16gb, correct?

need "/" logical partition install ubuntu to, largest partition.

not making separate home partition, no worrying that.

doing dual boot windows 7, i'll have:
windows 7 c:/ primary partition
windows 7 "system" primary partition (came laptop)
ubuntu swap partition
ubuntu "/" logical

i've never done before, missing anything? remember logical partitions needing inside extended partitions, i'm bit confused in area.

hi,
i need make swap partition, , since have 8gb ram, i'll need make 16gb, correct?
you need 3 gigs of swap @ most.

i need "/" logical partition install ubuntu to, largest partition.
i make separate home partition can reinstall , keep current files if need too. since using windows create data partition using ntfs can access personal files pictures , music both operating systems root partation needs 10 gigs @ most.
