How do I export without re-encoding? [PrEl 11]

i've been searching , having no luck finding answer this. maybe i'm not finding right terms. or maybe i'm missing obvious. lol! @ rate, can me out.

i go through original video files , cut out bad bits , save individual short clips use build movies. years ago, use virtualdub because fast , easy. getting work modern dslr files more hassle feel doing. i've been using prel initial step well. problem is, can't see way export trimmed clips without re-encoding them. it's not huge deal re-encode doesn't seem cause visible degredation. still, though, faster , cleaner export trimmed clips without re-encoding did virtualdub. can't figure out how prel so. know?

thanks,

michelle

*waves @ oldies on here when when prel first came out*

like virtually video editors, in premiere elements  not editing original video. adding video project , outputting finished, edited piece finished project. virtually involves re-encoding.

the program can smart-render formats (like dv-avi), when output specs match project , source footage specs precisely. not dslr footage.

on other hand, there little need. see virtually no reduction in quality output video, when  project set up. but, more important, there no reason output video should identical in specs source videoe.

your source video has been optimized specific purpose: provide maximum editable quality within limited storage area.

likewise, output video optimized specific purpose. plan finished video? add dvd or bluray disc? post online? use source footage in video project? there output specs optimized each of uses -- ideal size-to-quality ratio.
