i use pse9 digital scrapbooking.  lately, when have several pictures , elements on page, have click on layers pallette select item move.  if don't click on item, item have selected move when move mouse.  used able click on element or picture on page , move it. with move tool selected don't have auto-select checked in tool options bar.         More discussions in Photoshop Elements adobe

this problem started in last couple of weeks. mac os updated (10.8) premiere pro cs6. have 4 hd's mounted in mac pro (boot, video, audio , storage). if i'm in either ppro or prelude , use media browser access files, programs freeze click on "storage" drive.  other 3 drives can searched normally, click on storage drive, shows no files or folders , within 4-5 seconds, gives me pinwheel of death , locks program (either ppro or prelude….same exact reaction) , have force quit. behavior consistent , repeatable, i'm not sure causing system has been extremely stable , dependable until couple weeks ago.   here's i've tried before coming here help:   1. ran every disk repair app available me (mac disk utility, diskwarrior) no problems can found on drive including "storage".   2. ran aja system test see if "stress test" drive….no problems found….read/write speeds fine.   3. uninstalled , reinstalled ppro, prelude , after effects (did not apply upd...

if seems don't know doing, because don't. not lazy or stupid though. reading scott mueller's "upgrading , repairing pcs" series. haven't made through "upgrading , repairing networks" yet. right trying install type of firmware router make repeater. if can make work, can mount on van wifi hotspots. i'm kind of living out of right now. can use usb powered wifi device mounted antenna, have wire 20 gauge usb wire on van. usb hubs boost signal. can use 20 gauge usb cables 5 meters. after can use powered usb hub 5 meters. hello, since few weeks ago trying linux os , decided install lubuntu on hard drive. choose option install in paralel windows xp don't know why, can't install. tried several times , after choose time zone, stops in "congratulations" menu. other times (the majority) when appears menu choose time, says can't mount because of cd rom. take out cd rom (i using cd rom plop boot usb) , stops, put continue button menu of take out cd rom doesn't disappear. tried install xubuntu same happens. on xubuntu, appears take out cd rom , not. when appears, continue installation. writing installation of xubuntu, right stopped since lot of time in congratulations menu , when click in end shows this: (i don't know how copy text, write 2 last phrases) --- ubuntu ubiquity [3074]: ubiquity 2.8.7 ubuntu ubiquity [3074]: log-output -t ubiquity laptop-detect --- know might problem? hi fernator. welcome...

edit: please see second post. can ignore one. i'm trying install gparted-live onto external hd. made 1.99 (shot 200 199 gparted settled on when made partition) fat32 partition on drive. when run unetbootin, no drives show @ when 'type' set 'usb'. dunno up. rest of drive ntfs , doesn't spot that, either, assume that's because knows i'm installing iso it's looking fat32 partitions. ubuntu in general finds drive , partition -- i've been able mount (although haven't tried writing yet), unetbootin doesn't see whether it's mounted or not (i assume shouldn't be, figured i'd try). advice appreciated. bumping thread. shorter. more general question: if want run gparted live external hard drive resize partitions on internal ones, can that, , if so, how? usb-creator-gtk doesn't see drive. instructions find doing start "boot os on drive". ...

ultimately, need install ubuntu in customized way on machine won't have physical access to. have bootable usb memory stick can login remote. ideal have install ubuntu on local machine, , replicate hard drive on remote machine via being logged in bootable usb memory stick. here's issue. i'd able boot on installed ubuntu system while usb memory stick still in place. i'm thinking of 1 of these possibilities: 1. reconfigure init to, instead of halting system when shuts down, mount root partition of installed hard drive system root, , execute init program in place of current 1 in pid 1. 2. use kexec boot whole new kernel (from hard drive). installing 12.04 lts desktop version (because needs have x server running) when comes out (can test betas before then). usb memory stick has modified slackware64 13.37 on it.
