Thread: Try(hd0, 0): ntfs5: error: "prefix is not set" after installing Xubuntu 11.10 from XP

i'm trying install xubuntu 11.10 windows xp 20 hours now. tried @ least 5 times, changing partitions, installing in online , offline mode, when restart pc after wubi finish install, , choose boot xubuntu on boot menu i'm getting error:

code:
try(hd0, 0): ntfs5: error: "prefix not set"
i can't install cd because don't have disk burner right now, nor have big enough usb stick(yup, know sounds silly 2012 ).

think i'm enough follow instructions, new in ubuntu field, please try explain possible

any appreciated!

*i've tried install linux mint 12 lxde "mint4win" , i'm getting same error :s :s :s

that's not error. 'error' part happens on every wubi install, every time boots (since 11.04 released) , it's more error there's error.

so... wait minute or , see happens. last time reported sort of problem said took minute before booted. isn't normal though.

maybe try defragging drive?
