Thread: OpenSSL or OpenPGP for files on usb drive

folks:
trying encrypt files on usb flash drive. losing them @ school.

not looking entire drive encryption, @ file level. want ask password when opening file.

should use openssl or openpgp individual file aes-256 encryption?

thank you.

gpg easy use earlier there nice plugin nautilus encrypt decrypt gpg right mouse click.

feature should again available stated here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1928660

there again plugin called seahorse-nautilus , should work.
did not test myself far, have 11.04 ubuntu still , can use old plugin still.

note while possible make plain symetric encryption pgp/gpg, in general used encrypt key , need gpg , private key on target machine ready able decrypt it.

use plain aes symetric encryption, there might more simple ways of doing it.
