Thread: Grub issue?

i installed ubuntu 11.10 on hp pavillion g7. intention have dual boot windows7 os present. grub doesn't show when reboot , goes straight ubuntu. cannot windows @ all. when partitioning, set linux partition primary, may have been mistake. how can access windows? if lost, how can access files have in windows partition?

welcome forums!

press <super> (windows logo key) keyboard , search , start 'terminal'. run these commands , post outputs please:

code:
sudo fdisk -l sudo update-grub
the 'terminal' prompt password won't show characters on screen while type it. feed password , hit <enter>.

if 'windows' listed in output of second command, means grub has been configured , able dual-boot now. if windows isn't there, might need post output of bootinfoscript per instructions here can take , offer solution:

http://bootinfoscript.sourceforge.net

@ first, please post outputs of above 2 commands. posted 'bootinfoscript' instructions doubt might not able online till evening if post outputs, else might take , able advise you.
