Thread: ideal/best RDC client?

i'm not sure if in right section, here goes:
looking app allow me access ubuntu linux system (any) computer. know there several rdc clients ubuntu, 1 ideal? also, can turn system on remotely, or need wake on lan (wol)) & magic packets that?

used logmein when big on win7, alright, annoying @ times how couldn't access if system turned off or on standby..

in advance.

regards,
collin

this perennial question, unfortunately no simple answer.

logmein great product, sadly not work when accessing linux.

have @ yuuguu. has free version (or did when last looked), it's logmein.

can use vnc, beware security nonexistent, use on secure local network. (realvnc provides security, again not linux.)

there's built-in remote desktop, have never tried, because (as understand) again there no security.

can access 1 machine using ssh, rather lot more complex; , may have fiddle router ensure requests go through cleanly, if more 1 device connected. once successful, you'll need xnest or xephyr x (google xephyr more information). have not managed work, understand others have.
