Thread: extended partition wrecked by windows... need help to restore
hey,
need (well, don't).
windows wrecked extended partition (which had few logical volumes) , don't know how restore them o_o
information system (after partition #2 -> far remember):
1 hdd (sda)
pr = primary; lo = logical
pr #1 512mb ext2 /boot (was/is active)
pr #2 ~64gb ntfs windows c:
ex #3
|- lo #4 ~670gb ntfs windows data d: --- vanished (nearly there...)
|- lo #6 ~128gb ntfs testpartition e: (used testing bigger things video editing) --- vanished
|- lo #7 ~1,5gb swap --- vanished (?!?)
|- lo #5 ~80gb ext4 root linux --- didn't vanish!?! using right now.
order picked @ last afair.
happened?
decided activate "testsigning" in order use freeotfe. -> forgot, grub active right now.
"bcdedit /set testsigning on" gave "bootsector not in systemmemory" (in german).
well, after few tries noticed grub.
after few reboots had set windows partition -> active
noticed, few partitions disappeared... thought come after reboot. didn't.
testsigning active, useless if can't data partition.
grub partition active again, can guess, logical partitions aren't back.
maybe of have idea.
backupped mbr (in hex o_รณ) usb stick.
have notebook linux (mint, based on ubuntu) , windows on it.
looked on google, last reading "ebr" (extended boot record) found no program modify it.
greetings
