Thread: Creating a dual-boot disc image
hey guys. may wrong place post this, here's question:
have partitioned laptop (dell studio xps 1640) 1 partition contains latest ubuntu release, , other has windows vista. installation , configuration of both oses major hassle, i'd backup hd in such way that, should crash, can restore it's current dual-boot setup.
think correct way disc imaging (but if else has better ideas, let me know). know of free (or if need be, paid) software can backup both partitions / create full hd image onto passport backup drive (http://external-hard-drive-review.to...es-review.html)? of course, software should have kind of way me reinstall both oses in entirety on new hd if (when) current hd crashes.
thanks!
welcome forums.
many suggest windows software windows , linux software linux. believe in small system partitions , separate data partitions. , backup configuration settings, can clean install.
windows should make vendor recovery dvds, system repaircd or usb , full backup of system.
vendor recovery dvds image of drive purchased. if have housecleaned lot of cruft included, run many updates many reboots, , added software may want full up.
