Thread: Folder locked

hi friends,

root folders /etc, /bin, /usr, & mean folders in "/" directory looks locked when logged user (eg: username= dev001) when logged in root account (username = root) folders looks normal.

cant run crontab in user account
error come accrossed
"you not allowed run crontab"

kindly friends

those folders belong root permission set root user can modify (and in case, view it) security purpose, compromised user can't damage system
also, crontab cannot run without being root user, since root can modify system files.
if user account has entry in sudoer file (a.k.a. admin account) can run command root by
code:
sudo command
p.s. read here se why logging root bad, really, bad: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/rootsudo
