Thread: Installing patched wireless drivers problem

okay, i've downloaded latest "compat-wireless-2.6" source, , compiled without problems, but, when "make install" part, doesn't seem anything, mean, throws this:

make -c /lib/modules/3.0.0-16-generic/build m=/home/ariel/compat/compat-wireless-2012-03-18 modules
make[1]: se ingresa al directorio «/usr/src/linux-headers-3.0.0-16-generic»
and remains same hours... doesn't continue or anything...

way, applied "-1 channel fix" patches..

i'm using ubuntu 11.10 on linux 3.0.0-16-generic...

hope can me guys.. thanks!!

edit: i've solved it, happened:
looking makefile, found "make install" instruction this: "make uninstall make install-modules make install-scripts" @ once, tried execute each 1 individually... first "make uninstall" "make install-modules" , installation "freezed", okay, pressed ctrl+c cancel , continued make "install-scripts" , went fine last "make", tried "make install" again , worked!!...

so, if someday comes across same problem (make install doesn't work) run this: "make uninstall && make install-scripts && make install"

welcome.

did you:

code:
sudo make install
?

have compat wireless 2.6 in repositories without having compile source ...

presume having problems wireless. have tried plugging in cable, getting online, getting updates checking additional drivers? (or hardware drivers). if not, should try before going further attempting install manually. please run command , post result:

code:
sudo lshw -c network
