Thread: Attempting Triple Boot - Ubuntu breaks Win 7

alright, has been driving me crazy 6 hours now. i've got 2008 macbook , i've been trying 3 operating systems running: lion, ubuntu, , windows 7(i've been using refit bootloader). installing lion , windows 7 works perfectly, after install ubuntu goes hell.

here exact procedure:
-start hard drive that's been erased using mac diskutility
-create 3 partitions in sizes want. both linux , windows partitions start out fat-32.
-at point running "diskutil list" reveals 4 partitions: efi partition , 3 new partitions numbered disk0s1 through 0s4
-install lion on 1 partition
-install refit
-install windows 7 on partition, includes step in partition formatted ntfs

@ point works fine. then
-i go through ubuntu installation procedure, in manually select disk0s3 installation ext4 filesystem. make sure linux specific loader set install on sda3
-now when reboot computer refit usual. if select mac boot mac. if select linux grub , can boot linux. if select windows also grub. in both of latter cases if select windows 7 inside grub error of "windows failed start. recent hardware or software change may cause" along advice run utility win 7 disc (which, if do, says can't fix current problem)
-if go windows 7 installer on disk , examine partitions previous partition windows 7 designated "free space"

i've done entire procedure 3 times now, same results. have advice?

edit: further examination of partitions listed under windows 7 reveals 0.00 mb sized partition @ top wasn't there before , designated "primary". since mac supports 4 primary partitions , other 3 efi, mac, , ubuntu, seems creation of new 1 "kicks" windows partition being designated free space. sound familiar anyone?

oh, , new mystery partition doesn't show under diskutil list @ all. @ point i'd settle terminal commands manually set partition primary

the problem related small partition. if delete in windows 7 installer (it doesn't show in mac) , re-install win 7 on windows partition can boot windows fine, can no longer boot ubuntu, because "error: no such partition" error grub rescue prompt.

so, summarize: when installing ubuntu minuscule partition created @ top of partition list apparently contains grub, wouldn't problem except designated primary. that, efi, mac , ubuntu proper 4 primary partitions, windows partition becomes invalidated. sound can me with?

"Could not fill because there are not enough opaque source pixels" - not solved by any other thread

i'm getting error posted in thread's title , have no idea why.  working image not transparent in way. 100% opacity.  in fact, doesn't matter work with, every time try fill selection on layer in doc, error.  ideas???  thanks   scott probably see screen shot of photoshop layers panel open. at point guess can make wrong layer selected, once see screen, else may pop out @ me, or else reading thread. Why can't I change the billing info for my account?

hi all,   about 3 weeks ago issued new corporate cc number. have been trying since find way update in website. everytime try load billing info message 'there has been error on our side, please try again later.' has been happening weeks now. decided, if they're not going fix it, i'll call support.   i reported bug support, no response.   i called support , sat on hold update cc. hung on when should have been answered. happened twice (i'm persistent).   i registered call-back. got call-back, , told needed go person. got warm transfer because of above problem.   this person told me needed talk yet different team, , schedule call me in 1-2 hours.   it has been on week, maybe week , half since supposed receive call-back, , ticket updated yesterday; they've tried reach me no success (yeah, right), them do? left note: call me @ number within next 4 hours, , can settle this. guess got pacific time support team, because called 16 hours later (i'm gmt, way; company u...
