Thread: Opera Install


ok i've got 3 multiboot computers. 2 have mint , 1 has ubuntu 10.10 along various flavors of winders. i'm on usb data card internet service has byte limit per month. windowz os download new version of opera 1 time , manually install via .exe on each system i'm having problems doing both mint , ubuntu??

downloaded new version of opera , went downloads folder , right clicked on , selected open debain package installer , error?

error: breaks existing package 'opera' conflict: opera ( )

, doesn't give me options install?? understand there's conflict existing stuff don't want "uninstall" opera , loose current settings updated version install in mint or ubuntu?

here i'm "challenged" when command line involved!

ken, hates unity enough switch! , if it's consolation, hate metro also!

you can try in terminal.
go downloads folder (where downloaded opera)
in terminal type
code:
sudo dpkg -i --force opera-xxxxxx.deb
(replacing thexxxxx actual file name)
warning may break opera together.

may want try using opera ppa repository. here's how:
