Thread: Set a screensaver as a wallpaper?

i use ubuntu 12.04, using plasma desktop render background (since love plasma widgets, not kde itself) , have searched web desperately way make screensaver act wallpaper on kde, no luck.
can help?

there plasma wallpaper addons in aptly named package plasma-wallpaper-addons, there doesn't seem screensaver one, no. toyed around , way found work xscreensavers, no asciiquarium.

obvious route of starting screensaver --root (to paint on root window) didn't seem work @ all, can cook kwin window rule make xscreensaver start borderless, in fullscreen, on desktops, below all, initial placement on mainwindow, skipping taskbar/pager/switcher, not accepting focus , not being closable.

i'm attaching example seems work -- @ least me. can import in system settings -> window behaviour -> window rules. start screensaver; they're in /usr/lib/xscreensaver/.

again, work xscreensavers, you'd need install xscreensaver* packages. in main , universe repositories.
