Thread: Cisco AM10

i installed lubuntu 11.10 alternative. have cisco valet am10 need working in order internet access. can't working. found thread need find link describing i'm missing stuff make , don't have ability use sudo get-apt etc since can't access repositories. don't know how manually install of , i'm having hard time finding how make, or of other things needed follow thread, or finding out if compatible. idea need do. i'm stumped. i'm new so.. 8) appreciated. use simple stuff since can't follow commands , install stuff automatically. idea needs done device working?

don't think alternative has lot of basic commands. noticed has makefile. equivilant or mean i'm sol? have hard time learning linux structure atm. i'm struggling lot setup. since in need know do. it's option.

basically, in thread, device starts out having flash device storing teh drives. , seems have bypassed adaptor work or something. in windows run them whatever , has tell network info connect , walla. great in windows. night mare in linux...

have files think use @ first. have zip stuff usb-modeswitch can't use because can't use make. can't use repositories , don't know how manually install. , reading files on getting stuff still oriented on short method. can't find pure manual way tells considerations or i'm having hard time understanding it. can lubuntu use make?

p3 930mhz cpu
2x128mb ram (?speed?)
80bg hdd.
era mobo.
usb 1.0 (the am10 device worked on usb1.0 in windows possible)
old basically.

wireless adaptor:
cisco valet am10
chipset in teh thread. 3072 something.

other: have on stick later , port if can figure out. , can't see screen till login hope none of on startup screen.

i'm still before threads starting point. i'm missing file abilities make. not sure need set up.

, trying reinstall windows on part of disk. won't read windows disk start instalation. i'm not sure why. have made alot simpler. sorry inconvenience. can't find how modify partition in lubuntu shrink it... alot simpler process if have.

based on said above , highlighted, sure linux , device idea? there many plug in , work out of box devices available few dollars elsewhere.

frankly, if had other options, i'd give cisco am10 windows friend , move on.

however, if have self-destructive tendancies, love extreme pain , frustration , must press forward, i'll happy help.
