Thread: unable to remove bad package installed from .deb


i installed raid configuration package highpoint rocketraid got manufacturer's web site. i'm not sure happened got messed along way.

no matter try (install else, remove package, etc.) message
code:
sudo apt-get install -f hptraidconf reading package lists... done building dependency tree reading state information... done e: package hptraidconf needs reinstalled, can't find archive it.
i attempted steps shown here no luck: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...70&postcount=6

suggestions? don't need installed again because have working package installed now, i'm unable install else because of 1 broken package.
