Thread: Restoring kernel from live cd


i accidentally removed important kernel boot folder , system not start.

able overwrite kernels on harddrive, right installation disk.

running few walls in trying this. example, when try follow steps found on page:

on 1st step of writing command "sudo mount /dev/sda2 /mnt"

error message "mount: must specify filesystem type"

i solved using boot-repair. initialized boot-repair reinstall grub. when saw grub looked relatively normal. initialized mbr repair, apparently fixed master boot record, , gave me harddrive back.

time , confirm fix finding out if system reboot normally. plus looks have check few small things bring server online.
