Thread: Running Windows apps from separate partition?

i have searched internet trying find if possible no luck. i'm aware i'm able use wine, vmware, virtualbox, etc. run software os.

have set system dual-boot between windows 7 , ubuntu 11.10. ideally, i'd able run windows programs (games of course) ubuntu, if possible.

can't navigate appropriate directory , run executable wine since apparently windows filesystem doesn't support changing permissions (and ubuntu requires me change executable permission .exe file).

suppose download torrent of .iso image windows 7 , set virtual box, if necessary, hoping avoid doing elaborate.

have suggestions should do? keep in mind, i'm new today's linux since first linux install in on decade. taking time read this.

not sure understand question ... if you're asking, in dual-boot setup linux installed on 1 partition , ms windows on another, can run ms windows apps wine? answer no. apps have installed in linux distro run them.
