Thread: boot to text screen, and maybe later start graphics mode


i want boot text screen, have possibility start graphics de. let's lxde unless there strong reason use bigger.

think can idea when running server, because of muscles can used server jobs. when want log in , something, nice able run graphics via console. (i know how run graphics via ssh remote login, can sluggish.)

how should such system configured , command should use start graphics de?

- run x graphics

minimal install that. kernal , enough drivers connect internet download want.

not sure how different versions updated include efi. servers have had uefi lot longer desktops, surprised efi not work better.

(with gnome2) said better:

not have gdm , not know unity , gnome3 correct.
