Actions don't work to "Rename Layer ..." in Photoshop CS 6

can't seem "layer > rename layer ..." activate actions, whether try "insert menu item" or "record action".

 

i have created , used many actions on years in photoshop, , of them seem work fine in phothsop cs6, except one.

 

in cs5.x command listed "layer properties...", brought screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.39.35 pm.pngdialog.

 

in cs 6.x command has been removed layer palette menu. instead, command has been renamed "rename layer..." in main menu, , no longer brings dialog. editing done directly in layer name text fieldscreen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.19.01 pm.png , clear old action can't work as-is.

 

so, deleted , rebuilt folllows:

 

  1. i created new action screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 2.35.56 pm.png
  2. from action palette's menu screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.10.03 pm.pngi selectedscreen shot 2013-06-26 @ 2.36.52 pm.png
  3. the screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.13.51 pm.png alert popup came up
  4. from screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.11.14 pm.png main menu selectedscreen shot 2013-06-26 @ 2.37.26 pm.png
  5. the screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.12.57 pm.png alert popup updated show "layer:rename layer".
  6. i clicked ok, nothing showed under new action in actions palette screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.15.51 pm.png

 

 

i thought perhaps there bug screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 2.36.52 pm.png command in cs6, tried record action process instead.

 

  1. with art layer visible , selected screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.46.23 pm.pngi clicked record screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.17.58 pm.png
  2. i selected screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.11.14 pm.png , screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 2.37.26 pm.png again.
  3. this time art layer activated screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.19.01 pm.png.
  4. i changed layer name screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.27.22 pm.png , hit return.
  5. in actions palette, screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.28.27 pm.pngthe set current layer action automatically added.
  6. i know don't want "123" layer name, thought manually edit action adding dialog box control.
  7. i clicked stop screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.20.32 pm.png try out key command
  8. i manually changed layer name screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.19.01 pm.png , hit return set it.
  9. i ran action typing cmd-shft-f9
  10. as expected dutifully edited layer name screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.48.20 pm.png
  11. now wanted intercept renaming step, ticked dialog box option screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 3.50.10 pm.pngin action thinking give me method of keying in name during playback.
  12. the first few times ran action script, brought layer style dialog. screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 4.00.45 pm.pngwhat?
  13. i thought might amiss function keys, checked keyboard settings in system preferences.
  14. this option onscreen shot 2013-06-26 @ 2.59.15 pm.pngso unchecked off , closed system prefs.
  15. back in ps didn't seem make difference, thought maybe needed restart activate level of system preference.
  16. i restarted, double-checked function key option unchecked, , tried action again.
  17. now action didn't run @ all, knew function key option supposed remain checked.
  18. i rechecked it, restarted, , returned photoshop.
  19. when ran action time, layer style dialog did not come up. layer renamed "123" no way edit during playback. what?

 

 

in end, played inserting stop or conditional, tried playback options, inserted other random commands , played reordering them. works perfectly, can't seem gain control on editing layer name action.

 

i assume root of problem there no longer dialog box controls layer name, , therefore there's no moment in playback can give me dialog box control on name.

 

but refuse believe simple, useful action can't done. used feature hundreds of times day in earlier versions of photoshop, , i'm relegated tediously double-clicking layer name every time need edit.

  1. use main menu > edit >screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 6.52.18 pm.png
  2. in keyboard shortcuts , menus pop-up, select screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 6.53.31 pm.png
  3. twirl open layer section screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 6.54.36 pm.png
  4. scroll down , select screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 6.55.56 pm.png
  5. a text field appear screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 6.57.57 pm.png
  6. simply type keyboard command want use!
  7. note: alert warn if shortcut in use screen shot 2013-06-26 @ 6.59.51 pm.png

"Could not fill because there are not enough opaque source pixels" - not solved by any other thread

i'm getting error posted in thread's title , have no idea why.  working image not transparent in way. 100% opacity.  in fact, doesn't matter work with, every time try fill selection on layer in doc, error.  ideas???  thanks   scott probably see screen shot of photoshop layers panel open. at point guess can make wrong layer selected, once see screen, else may pop out @ me, or else reading thread. Why can't I change the billing info for my account?

hi all,   about 3 weeks ago issued new corporate cc number. have been trying since find way update in website. everytime try load billing info message 'there has been error on our side, please try again later.' has been happening weeks now. decided, if they're not going fix it, i'll call support.   i reported bug support, no response.   i called support , sat on hold update cc. hung on when should have been answered. happened twice (i'm persistent).   i registered call-back. got call-back, , told needed go person. got warm transfer because of above problem.   this person told me needed talk yet different team, , schedule call me in 1-2 hours.   it has been on week, maybe week , half since supposed receive call-back, , ticket updated yesterday; they've tried reach me no success (yeah, right), them do? left note: call me @ number within next 4 hours, , can settle this. guess got pacific time support team, because called 16 hours later (i'm gmt, way; company u...
