Thread: LTS: canonical desktop support for Unity/Unity2d only?

hello all

have tested 10.04.4 -> 12.04 upgrade using software udate upgrade path , went smoothly. testing used 'spare' pc , did not risk important data. 12.04 due released later month. 10.04 reach end of support period in 2013.

canonical paid support involve unity/unity2d desktop or extend gnome panel (aka gnome-fallback) or xfce?

wondering training/introduction requirement may people confronting unity desktop first time in work setting, , resources can muster in form of walkthrough videos, leaflets, posters &c community effort

great question, , think canonical should answer ease migration retraining hassles.

if gnome session fallback in 'main' channel canonical officially supports it.
