Thread: Replacing /etc/init.d/networking

hi,

have ubuntu virtual machines on centos host.

use different vlans host uses eth0 , virtual machines needs use vlan-interface, , eth0 in virtual machine needs up, no ip address.

couldn't work using iproute2 , default network configuration, created simple script called network start, stop , restart executed scripts in /etc/network iproute2 commands made.

did upadte-rc.d network defaults.

works should, thing when restarting guest system stops "waiting network configuration" takes 1-2 minutes.

thought default network configuration scripts, tried remove content /etc/network/interfaces didn't help, removed script startup using
update-rc.d -f networking remove

didn't either, , there still references in /etc/rcx.d/ networking.

know how remove default network configuration scripts? or is waiting network configuration.

can't see references in /etc/rcx.d/ network script.
