Why is Appendix not appearing in the TOC?

hi all

 

i have added appendix existing guide. however, appendix heading not display in toc, includes heading 1s , 2s.

the master page toc includes following definitions:

chapter <$chapnum>: <$paratext>	<$pagenum>
<$paratext>	<$pagenum>
<$paratext>	<$pagenum>
<$paratext>	<$pagenum>
appendix <$chapnum>: <$paratext>	<$pagenum>

 

the chapter heading displaying fine. missing something?

hi emma, these definitions on toc *reference page*, not master page, yes?

 

if right-click on toc in existing guide (the book file) you'll see appendix title not included. if is, it's appendixtoc (assumes appendix paragraph tag named appendix) paragraph tag not assigned paragraph on reference page.
