Thread: installing Qt; says it can't find compiler

i'm installing qt sdk onto 11.10. in installation, warning don't have compiler. i've installed gcc, notice it's not in $path variable.

notice there's no mention of $path in .bashrc file, , don't have .bash_profile file on mac.

so, 2 questions: lack of path gcc culprit of warning, and...where 1 set environment variables in ubuntu?

thanks.

you might want install build-essential , see if doing makes difference.
