i want install ubuntu on partition make on windows 7 laptop. didn't far! went download don't know category architecture falls into.

processor intel core i3 cpu m380 @ 2.53 ghz. 64-bit.

1. version download?

2. how big of partition need?

3. once make partition, download files while in windows partition, able choose new partition install ubuntu?

everyone.

you can download iso in windows , make cd or bootable usb. use usb flash drive or hard drive boot iso have burned coasters , burned backups, repaircds , other systems have ways boot. usb flash drives reuseable. if using cd burn @ slowest speed can.

when version, asking about. use 64bit if have 3gb or more of ram, , standard desktop version. other versions different guis can try later if like.

vendor recovery dvds image of drive purchased. if have housecleaned lot of cruft included, run many updates many reboots, , added software may want full up.

not make partitions in windows may convert dynamic partitions one-way conversion , dynamic not work linux. use windows tools shrink windows partition if need make smaller.

total space want ubuntu:
ubuntu's standard install / (root) & swap, better add partition /home:
1. 10-25 gb mountpoint / primary or logical beginning ext4(or ext3)
2. 2 gb mountpoint /home logical beginning ext4(or ext3)
3. 2 gb mountpoint swap logical

depending on how memory have may not absolutely need swap having still recommended. not hibernate (boots fast enough me) if hibernating need swap equal ram in gib not gb. , if dual booting windows shared ntfs partition recommended. cannot create part of install, leave space. or partition in advance (recommended).
1 advantage of partitioning in advance installer use swap space speed install. herman tip.

video card have? can have issues need set parameters boot.

i'm getting error posted in thread's title , have no idea why.  working image not transparent in way. 100% opacity.  in fact, doesn't matter work with, every time try fill selection on layer in doc, error.  ideas???  thanks   scott probably see screen shot of photoshop layers panel open. at point guess can make wrong layer selected, once see screen, else may pop out @ me, or else reading thread. Why can't I change the billing info for my account?

hi all,   about 3 weeks ago issued new corporate cc number. have been trying since find way update in website. everytime try load billing info message 'there has been error on our side, please try again later.' has been happening weeks now. decided, if they're not going fix it, i'll call support.   i reported bug support, no response.   i called support , sat on hold update cc. hung on when should have been answered. happened twice (i'm persistent).   i registered call-back. got call-back, , told needed go person. got warm transfer because of above problem.   this person told me needed talk yet different team, , schedule call me in 1-2 hours.   it has been on week, maybe week , half since supposed receive call-back, , ticket updated yesterday; they've tried reach me no success (yeah, right), them do? left note: call me @ number within next 4 hours, , can settle this. guess got pacific time support team, because called 16 hours later (i'm gmt, way; company u...
