Premiere Elements 10 slow GUI refresh
hi all,
i experiencing slow gui refresh rate using premiere elements 10. has been happening since first started using program, using bit more , it's starting frustrate me.
basically, open program , create new project, action changes screen e.g. maximising, resizing timeline, changing timeline scale etc. occurs slowly. example, maximising window takes approximately 4 seconds complete, , resizing timeline laggy.
it shown reasonably in following clip, although more pronounced me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c7gbqxir8o&feature=youtu.be
this issue has been discussed in few other questions, none resolved issue (that have found) or have kind of gone off topic, thought ask myself in effort resolve it.
a couple of points note:
- occurs without video loaded i.e. empty project. (loading video doesn't have effect)
- it not affected selected preset. have same issue.
- somewhat curiously, playback of video fine.
- disabling desktop composition suggested in post on issue results in slight improvement, not make go away.
computer specs:
- windows 7 pro x64 sp1 (i using 64 bit version of premiere elements)
- core i5 2500
- 8 gb ram
- evga gtx 460 1gb
- asus z77 sabretooth motherboard
- primary drive 2x 64gb ssd's raid 1 (os , performance sensitive applications incl. premier elements)
- secondary drive 2x 1tb hdd's raid 1 (other applications & data storage)
note drive configuration , motherboard have been changed recently, , had no effect on issue.
thanks in advance help.
don't assume it's not related project settings. how closely video format matched project settings plays biggest role in program's performance!
what model of camcorder video coming , format , resolution it?
when started premiere elements project, project settings did select? if you've selectede correct project settings, not see red lines above clips when add them timeline in timeline mode. case in project?
if using photos, have ensured resized no larger 2000x1500 pixels in size? oversized photos chief reason program bogs down , runs out of memory.
your hardware on lower end of system reqs high-definition video (regardless of adobe says), affecting performance also. program shouldn't slog along if you've got things set , you're editing camcorder video.
assuming, of course, you've got of windows updates (including non-critical updates don't install automatically) and, especially, if you've got latest version of quicktime , latest drivers video card downloaded directly http://www.geforce.com
