Thread: shortcut cd

hi ubuntuforums,

if have folder structure this: home/user/pics/animals/downloaded/google_images/mammals/ ,
there way quicky cd mammals folder without typing long directory?

well, place @ end of .bash_rc

export img=/home/user/pics/animals/downloaded/google_images/mammals/

after you're done, type in terminal apply changes:

code:

source .bashrc

done! now, whenever want enter directory, need enter this:

code:

cd $img

of course, can replace img , directory whatever like.
