probably should wait until new hard drive before submit question, have free time now. few months ago acer aspire m1610, 1gb ram, 250gb hdd, ati raydeon x1550 graphics card, started acting funny. @ time had windows xp pro installed, couldn't boot , in flailing around trying fix boot sector trashed partition table. luckily had live cd of maverick meercat (ubuntu 10.10) downloaded in feb 2011, , able install , upgrade 11.04 , 11.10 , worked except getting constant messages "a hard drive reporting imminent failure," , kept losing sectors , month couldn't boot more, still able use live cd , discovered "persistent sessions," allows lot better experience.

anyway, time first upgraded 11.04, have noticed programs, firefox browser, time time change color grayscale , stall while. have referred "going dark," because window looks darker when in color. happens programs: movie viewer (pretty often), firefox (constantly, can't run program safe mode), transmission, ubuntu software center, terminal. thought might connected odd signals coming failing hard drive, i've removed expecting install new 1 tomorrow. guy suggested tied firefox, , problem go away when upgraded firefox 11.0, have , hasn't. say, however, wish stay firefox 3.6 that's on live cd because it's faster i've experienced years.

may have graphics card. wasn't able graphics windows games using wine, programs wine evaluated platinum. or maybe insufficient memory? 1gb small ram linux? wouldn't have thought so. other component on motherboard getting close failure? it's had pretty constant use 4-1/2 years.

have thought problem known, haven't found in many searches, both in forums , in google generally. haven't been able figure out how reproduce it, , doesn't seem tied number of programs have running @ once, although hardly ever run many four, including terminal.

excuse me didn't read entire message.

generally, windows turning grayscale is, according intuitive guess , experience, when process generates window not responding input/signals. when responds again, window turns color back.

"Could not fill because there are not enough opaque source pixels" - not solved by any other thread

i'm getting error posted in thread's title , have no idea why.  working image not transparent in way. 100% opacity.  in fact, doesn't matter work with, every time try fill selection on layer in doc, error.  ideas???  thanks   scott probably see screen shot of photoshop layers panel open. at point guess can make wrong layer selected, once see screen, else may pop out @ me, or else reading thread. Why can't I change the billing info for my account?

hi all,   about 3 weeks ago issued new corporate cc number. have been trying since find way update in website. everytime try load billing info message 'there has been error on our side, please try again later.' has been happening weeks now. decided, if they're not going fix it, i'll call support.   i reported bug support, no response.   i called support , sat on hold update cc. hung on when should have been answered. happened twice (i'm persistent).   i registered call-back. got call-back, , told needed go person. got warm transfer because of above problem.   this person told me needed talk yet different team, , schedule call me in 1-2 hours.   it has been on week, maybe week , half since supposed receive call-back, , ticket updated yesterday; they've tried reach me no success (yeah, right), them do? left note: call me @ number within next 4 hours, , can settle this. guess got pacific time support team, because called 16 hours later (i'm gmt, way; company u...
