Thread: Re Easycap: is Jake007g (Easycap Guide) still around?

browsing more information on easycap, came across (probably still) useful guide, submitted jake007g, time ago (1. june 2010, on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...ight=easycap): contains clear instructions on how make easycap dc60+ work in ubuntu studio 10.04 lucid lynx. , i'm wondering if might apply ubuntu 10.04 lts, platform i'm running, yet entirely different vhs usb capturing device connected.

idea convert vhs tapes digital format (like .avi, instance). end, old sturdy bush vcr902/a vcr has been hooked honestech's vhs dvd 5.0 deluxe capturing device. this, easycap dc60+, composite (s video included) not intended linux. far, has been used on second (xp) unit – mixed results. consequently, main reason attempt @ getting in touch jake007 i'd hear opinion on chances of honestech capturing device working in linux, – provided drivers can obtained, of course – following instructions aforementioned, in whole or in part.

incidentally, vhs capturing tool might worth try vcap301 usb video capture. i'm not sure if it's still available, in ratings accompanying reference lubuntu: [quote] these devices not intended linux, capture video on lubuntu 10.10 computer, sound capture not supported community driver [unquote].

hope springs eternal...
