Feature Request: Point-Markers to Overlay Range-Markers (& compound markers-track)

problem:

in premiere cs6, both prelude , premiere, range markers (those duration greater zero) obscure point markers (those duration=0, default).   demonstrated @ http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-premiere-pro-cs6/improved-markers-and-importing-from-prelu de/ , @ around 04:42.  obscuration discourages use of range-markers.

 

solution (feature-request):

please reverse situation, point markers instead overlay range markers.  in fact, more generally, shorter-duration markers should overlay longer-duration markers.  idea longer-duration markers serve useful background shorter-duration ones, , of course reduce loss of information display.

 

how useful in practice:
for example, when editing presentation, useful mark ranges covering periods such establishing, main talk, question&answer session, finale & applause.  on top of add shorter-duration markers particular elements used or avoided.  on top of that, add markers point-events such "camera jolt".

 

better still (feature-request):

ideally, markers should considered special compound kind of track, metadata track (after all, markers stored metadata).  (compound) track viewed either in collapsed mode (where single track, overlay priorities described bove) or in expanded mode (revealing number of separate lanes, defined user, of markers).  such lanes given meaning user e.g. info, vital-use, nice-use-if-possible, avoid, ancillary (clapperboard, grey-card, color charts etc.).  colors defined each lane, make them intuitive people, @ glance.
