Thread: ssd and fresh install/ upgrade


recently added sata 2 ssd ideapad. dont think there reason use sata 3 being fast w/7200 rpm hdd. point now. first ssd put in im not sure how tanked . think trying reload version 10.10 many times . 2nd 1 worked out. wanna upgrade 10.10 11.10. want fresh install. cant seem find info on fresh install. dont wanna make same mistake. if reloading many times mistake.thanks, jay
specs idea pad
8 gigs ram
sata 2 ocz 120 gigs
i7 processor
let me know if u need more spec info.

with i7 processor, motherboard uefi/bios. many having difficulty uefi work. have bios used gpt recommended arch site ssd bios_grub partition , works install.

have backed of /home or have on separate rotating drive? did add lot of apps , want make list reload? or clean new install?

grub2 efi info archlinux - arch grub2 grub2 maybe minor differences distribution

recompiling grub not required newest versions of grub.
creating efi partition & folders in advance works.
