Thread: JAVA Background Process / Thread


hello everyone, need writing java background programs. not quite used java (mainly c/c++ programmer) , use (rarely school assignments).

writing program sort of server - client application. server waits , keeps listening incoming client. now, when run program, expected, window (console program) appears , executes nicely.

possible write java program, when executed, won't show window , not in taskbar, can found in tasklists? mean, title of post may bit misleading, listening done in background, want vanish screen. have searched in net, went on head.

also, in windows, when create jar file, can run command
code:
java -jar xyz.jar
but double clicking not working, while on many places have seen written double clicking should start program nicely. have jdk , jre installed properly. still can't it. regarding highly welcome.

1) general answer yes... awfully easy in linux, seems in windows, please state target operating system...

2) depends defined open jar filetype in file explorer. in windows it's better idea define shortcut.
