Thread: Vaio CD/dvd drive not working after install

hi,

newbie ubuntu/linux...decided rid of windows on sony , install 10.10...

sony vaio vgn-nr498e

after install, cd-dvd drive not working. see drive under "computer" not read cds/dvds...searched around in google , did own troubleshooting without luck.

need help....
