Files Corrupted on Timeline and Causing Crash--PE4
greetings all.
pe4 has been crash-happy on machine, specs of list:
cpu: intel core 2 duo @2.66ghz
ram: 4gb ddr2
os: win7 x64 service pack
graphics card: nvidia geforce gt 520 (2gb)
harddrive: 1tb (seagate, think...could western digital) 645gb free space
from threads i've read, i've seen nvidia cards can cause problems adobe software, part of general crash problem. driver latest (updated today, 7/3/13.)
anyway, i've begun encountering problem 33-minute-long animated film i've been editing in pe4. movie has lot of material on timeline because animated video clips split freeze frames in post-production sync footage dialog, , there bunch of short sound effect clips on top of plus music. total, have 2 video tracks , 8 audio tracks. published movie mpeg computer last night , afternoon, burned few dvds of finished project. when reached point 13 minutes film, speakers on tv emitted horrid screaching noise lasted 2 seconds. in film, .wmv clip playing ambient sound effects clip , series of 3 short, consecutive sound effects character knocking on wood box. (these audio clips in separate tracks , not part of .wmv file; added them separately.) thought perhaps tv speakers problem, computer speakers acted same way. next assumed glitch had occurred in media encoding , closed pe4, reopened, , burned new disk same result. checked .mpg file exported last night, , screach absent it.
i next tried examine specific spot in timeline, when scrolled , zoomed in level see <1 second long sound clips, program crashed without mentioning specific error. windows error reporting box popped , informed me "adobe pe4 has encountered problem , needs close." sceneline mode doesn't crash @ point, timeline does. thing can conclude somehow files on timeline got corrupted between last night , afternoon, since can't @ part of timeline without crash, can't replace clips @ area. overlooking silly here? appreciated. if haven't supplied needed information, i'm sorry; , i'll happy add it.
thanks,
