Captivate 6 file taking too long to open in LMS (Moodle)
hi there again people!
okay, project finished, uploading moodle, works fine, it's taking client long open. published file on 67000kb, pictures, 3 videos (biggest video 33,000kb), every slide has audio, , several quiz slides in between. have determined takes every computer different amounts of time open file, ranging 40 seconds 1 1/2 minutes. client doesn't want take more 30 seconds though (he prefer less).
we upload published swf file moodle , add containing files limelight.
what have tried decrease file size:
slide properties: made sure it's low (8-bit)
adjusted jpeg , png quality
adjusted video quality
adjusted audio as could
decreased quality of entire swf low
deleted unused library objects
turned off adobe connect metadata (it never clicked anyways)
in addition decreased canvas size 1024x768 819x614 (and more below 300 figure out... didn't much, few seconds, not satisfy)
i have read streaming options maybe? maybe moodle isn't right server? have ideas?
and please keep in mind i'm not streaming pro, please keep language simple understand smart brains... :-)
thanks everyone, hope 1 day i'm going enought give else advice - until hope helps else...
thanks much!!
nat
you have published captivate swf 67 megabytes in size , wonder why might taking more 30 seconds buffer , start playing?
i have tell published captivate movie huge. if want project begin playing in under 30 seconds, need break modules , use reload editor or adobe scorm packaging tool create multi-scorm package rather going 1 huge sco. problem isn't moodle, it's more end users don't have enough internet bandwidth pull down files large in under 30 seconds.
you didn't mention had set preloader percentage at, recommend testing see if can set lower without causing buffering after playback starts.
all of other changes made decrease overall quality of output, or else have no effect whatsoever on load time.
