Thread: Stereo Rendering Problems - nVidia geForce GTX 260M


im finding 3d rendering @ standstill due either video card, linux drivers, or who-knows-what. put, until maybe year or ago, able render stuff maya using video card's stereo buffer no problem.

@ point (possibly due kernal update -- seems unlikely), getting horrible artifacts in maya renders. following error message come in maya console, when software rendering rendering via hardware:

warning: unable opengl visual stereo buffer, trying without //.

video card nvidia geforce gtx 260m. using nvidia driver version: 195.36.24 . running glxgears works no jittery results. however, when run "glxgears -stereo" in same command line, following error:
error: couldn't rgb, double-buffered, stereo visual

no idea how might solved. did check xorg.conf file , reads:

any ideas might problem? far, last 3 new editions of nvidia driver dont seem solve issue know gotta go beyond that.

i thought needed quadro stereo quad buffer - saying used able on geforce!? if so, happened nvidia got wise , disabled in geforce driver.
