i'd grateful this. thanks.code:$ sudo apt-get build-dep --no-install-recommends linux-image-$(uname -r) reading package lists... done building dependency tree reading state information... done picking 'linux-source-2.6.34.1' source package instead of 'linux-image-2.6.34.1' e: unable find source package linux-source-2.6.34.1 $
... here. wondering if kernel still about. using 2.6.38-** on 10.04 boxes (not on 1 can't specific, sorry).for of want or need rebuild kernel, can download source code config file links above, wrote before there wont anymore included kernel source archive, have package called linux-source-2.6.34.1-blackjack_2.6.34.1-1_i386.deb contains kernel source code patches.
1 thing should before compiling kernel update. upgrade, (this not upgrade newer release, apps , packages). 1 after other in terminal:
btw, have gcc installed???code:sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade
you won't far without it, doubt that's issue.code:sudo apt-get install gcc
