Thread: Record Player MP3 Megastation (Summer Project)

so have old record player cabinet worn out( , quite expensive replace) needle, , turntable has pretty seen end of days, won't spin @ all. has has been serving as, pretty much, coffee table year. , have outdated hp pavillion xg834 , crt monitor bought yard sale has been, well, useless. don't use it. instead of sending them off landfill i'de make use of them. read here used record cabinet mp3 cabinet., i'd similar.




things able do:

1. play every audio codec known man

2. wifi connectivity, direct access music related sites , direct options transmission

3.phonograph underneath( have working record player, not 1 )

4. act home music server 1.5 terabyte external hd

5. owncloud...possibly

however, i'm running issues on things want out of system software wise:
1.very lightweight os, old computer have need speed

2."juke box" oriented gui. not want desktop in way. more digital juke box, options home music folders in forefront)

3. capacity touch-screen compatability. plan on adding touch screen overlay sometime in future.

4. access sites within browser takes whole screen, giving illusion website application, intstead of browser.

question this: distro , web browser these 4 prerequisites exist? or better suit purpose construct these features scratch in archlinux(or highly customizable distro ). if can guys give me resources?

i'm new @ programming have capacity , learn.

, if guys think project cool i'll keep posted on progress, begin work on tomorrow.
if werent linux being freakin awesome wouldn't attempt this.

i idea of reusing cabinet; however, think need check specification hp pavilion xg834.

don't think give storage (1.5 tb) or performance desire. hp pavilion xg834 can have maximum of 512mb of memory; which, limits gui options can use on it. seems have ide/ata disk controller may not support more 137gb (from brief browse on internet).

if going spend time refurbish cabinet, wouldn't put 6 10 year old computer it may not survive long.

after spending days modifying cabinet, applying new varnish, feeling accomplishment, wouldn't happy if old computer decided die on me.

"Could not fill because there are not enough opaque source pixels" - not solved by any other thread

i'm getting error posted in thread's title , have no idea why.  working image not transparent in way. 100% opacity.  in fact, doesn't matter work with, every time try fill selection on layer in doc, error.  ideas???  thanks   scott probably see screen shot of photoshop layers panel open. at point guess can make wrong layer selected, once see screen, else may pop out @ me, or else reading thread. Why can't I change the billing info for my account?

hi all,   about 3 weeks ago issued new corporate cc number. have been trying since find way update in website. everytime try load billing info message 'there has been error on our side, please try again later.' has been happening weeks now. decided, if they're not going fix it, i'll call support.   i reported bug support, no response.   i called support , sat on hold update cc. hung on when should have been answered. happened twice (i'm persistent).   i registered call-back. got call-back, , told needed go person. got warm transfer because of above problem.   this person told me needed talk yet different team, , schedule call me in 1-2 hours.   it has been on week, maybe week , half since supposed receive call-back, , ticket updated yesterday; they've tried reach me no success (yeah, right), them do? left note: call me @ number within next 4 hours, , can settle this. guess got pacific time support team, because called 16 hours later (i'm gmt, way; company u...
