Thread: Replacement CPU Running Hotter Than Original

hey guys im putting barebones desktop. have amd phenom ii x6 1045t. , gigabyte mobo. ordered kit in mail. put , running @ 35 c. bios , no os @ all. long story short had send cpu , mobo defective. installed same brand , model cpu , mobo. runs @ 39 c in bios. dont remember if @ 39c before installed ubuntu 11.10 64 bit or after im not quite sure which. ubuntu runs @ 42 c , when turning on virtual box running 48 c. know under max temps base temp @ 35 c previous cpu compared 39c replacement cpu . should worry difference or not enough make difference? replacement cpu had heat sink locking device mobo/cpu looks cheaper first one. ideas appreciated.

you need worry.

phenom ii x6 flame out @ 60 degrees. if getting in 40s under light load, in trouble. since on die thermistor reads 8 - 10 low.

sure getting cpu temp or socket temp.

have serious problem cooling solution. have noctua nh-d14 on 1100 t black and, adjusting 10 degrees, run @ 29 idle , i've never been above 47 @ 100% load.
