HTML Help .chm - Print error on compiled help when a mini TOC is in use

hi all,

 

i thought saw thread using print function in compiled .chm causing error, can't seem find it.  wanted add discussion, because i've isolated issue bit fuurther, , seems occur when mini toc placeholder in use in project.  bug report submitted time ago, have submitted include these findings.

 

my environment:  windows 7 64-bit, internet explorer 9, robohelp 10.0.0.287

 

my findings.

 

1. open "employee care" sample project ships robohelp 10.

2. compile "microsoft_html_help_location_based_us" ssl , view generated output.

3. in compiled .chm output's toc, right-click 1 of toc entries , select "print" menu option popup menu. print topics dialog displays.

4. select "print selected heading , subtopics" radio button , click ok button.

5. standard windows "print" dialog displays.

1. in "employee care" sample project ships robohelp 10, open "introduction" topic , add mini toc top of (insert --> placeholder --> topic toc).  accept default settings when adding mini toc.

2. compile "microsoft_html_help_location_based_us" ssl , view generated output.

3. in compiled .chm output's toc, right-click 1 of toc entries , select "print" menu option popup menu. print topics dialog displays.

4. select "print selected heading , subtopics" radio button , click ok button.

5. standard windows "webpage error" dialog displays.  error displayed follows:

 

"line: 49

error: value of property 'textpopupinit' null or undefined, not function object"

 

you can click no (don't debug) dismiss error , display standard windows "print" dialog in first scenario above, error has popped , clients don't it.

 

i see issue when mini toc added topic in project.  i've made firefox default browser , problem remains.

i'm sure printing compiled chm file sounds wonderful idea. @ least in theory.

 

the fact of matter is, it's woefully inadequate if goal provide user nicely formatted printed version of viewing inside chm file.

 

what folks need come terms print , online 2 different mediums , it's unlikely find magickal "one size fits all" approach. suspect folks pretty ignore issues surrounding printed output chm file , let user get if choose print. after all, if printing, it's not because compiling printed book based on printed pages chm, no? guess it's temporary use somehow.

 

if serious getting "pretty" print chm file, need consider including pdf document formatted wish user see in print, ship along chm (and link inside chm open it) , have them print pdf version.

 

think of pilot in small aircraft , looming storm approaching. it's going quite bumpy , unexpected ride if stay course.

"Could not fill because there are not enough opaque source pixels" - not solved by any other thread

i'm getting error posted in thread's title , have no idea why.  working image not transparent in way. 100% opacity.  in fact, doesn't matter work with, every time try fill selection on layer in doc, error.  ideas???  thanks   scott probably see screen shot of photoshop layers panel open. at point guess can make wrong layer selected, once see screen, else may pop out @ me, or else reading thread. Why can't I change the billing info for my account?

hi all,   about 3 weeks ago issued new corporate cc number. have been trying since find way update in website. everytime try load billing info message 'there has been error on our side, please try again later.' has been happening weeks now. decided, if they're not going fix it, i'll call support.   i reported bug support, no response.   i called support , sat on hold update cc. hung on when should have been answered. happened twice (i'm persistent).   i registered call-back. got call-back, , told needed go person. got warm transfer because of above problem.   this person told me needed talk yet different team, , schedule call me in 1-2 hours.   it has been on week, maybe week , half since supposed receive call-back, , ticket updated yesterday; they've tried reach me no success (yeah, right), them do? left note: call me @ number within next 4 hours, , can settle this. guess got pacific time support team, because called 16 hours later (i'm gmt, way; company u...
