Section starts

i returning working in indesign book project after year. now, rusty. can't remember many things knew when working on last october. 1 of things can't remember thing section starts. in example below, there little black triangle @ page 100 , @ page 110. bot starts of sections of book. have inserted spreads 108-109 , 112-113 , want same 'start' on page 108 starting new (extra)  'chapter' of book there.

 

wen right-click page 108 , select 'numbering & section' options , a  new section, warning:

 

and @ loss now.

 

can me rememberhow worked or point me 'refresher info' need?

that means you've got same "logical" page number assigned more once (not uncommon when restrting numbering) , you've used same numbering style in both sections. typically htis handled changing numbering style (i.e. use small roman numberals front matter , arabic numbers body).

 

what's reason wanting start new section? the  things can in numbering , sections dialog might useful change page number start of section other next consecutive number preceeding page or add section marker or prefix picked in header or footer on master page. new chapter, in , of itself, not require new section if numbering continuous previous chapter.
