Thread: Thunderbird and root mail!

i have spent couple of hrs trying configure thunderbird receive root mail, using these tutorials (they pretty same):
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-7321.html
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=7321
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/howto-forw...our-inbox.html

none of them work!

if happened solve issue, shout!

why not add alias root directs mail own account? edit (as root sudo) file /etc/aliases , add line this:

code:
root: myusername
replacing "myusername" own username. run command "sudo newaliases" , root's mail come directly you.

option, if have procmail installed, write .procmailrc file in /root contains "recipes" how root's mail should handled. procmail, can write rule sends mail specific headers 1 account, mail other headers account or folder within account, , delivers remainder default root's inbox. if procmail installed, type "man procmailrc" , "man procmailex" @ terminal prompt on syntax.
