RE: Color Checker
hello every 1 have question please , appreciate if me.
i watching tutorial on color checker , want make sure doing correctly.
i shot pictures, , shot picture color checker same lighting.
before shot pictures shot gray card , used custom white balance."" canon 5d"""
i imported pictures , shot color checker. clicked on file- export preset- color checker passport , did saved profile . did restarted lightroom, , inside profile, named , saved profile.
and sync images. later exported images dng.
when watched tutorial, showed, after saved profile must pick eye dropper , click on 1 of white or gray color swatches inside color checker correct white balance. , later apply profile images.
i don't know if correct or not, because if lightroom created profile color checker why have white balance again.
also when open dng images inside camera raw need apply white balance or should leave ?
once again thank helps in past.
the tutorial correct in need eyedropper precise wb, again.
our eyes sensitive looks neutral or white , when comparing 1 “white” happens paper , image. color profile less precise , work range of wb values.
when create color profile color-checker, part of name wb value of eyedroppered wb next-to-white patch. example, 450d_northlight_7650k+8, might name profile made when cc facing north on cloudless day blue sky predominant illuminant. can’t make color profile every possible pair of wb values, make several profiles, common lighting situations find myself in, , choose closest one.
i find need create several profiles incandescent through sunny maybe 1 or 2 cloudy or bluer because color error isn’t higher k values in nature. lower values include many types of man-made lighting sorts of spectral peaks , lines there many more types of correction on redder end of things.
